In November 2003, Charles H. Johnson, Jr. was appointed a Trustee of the West Chicago Library District for "his integrity, committment to serving the community and personable rapport." He impressed the Board of Trustees with his Engineering and financial background, but more so with his being personable, good looking with a memorable sense of humor. Charles is the first African-American Library Trustee of the West Chicago Library District! His term ended in July, 2009.
